Front Porch Décor for the Fall Time »

Fall is easily one of my favorite seasons! I’m excited to do this front porch refresh, because my summer flowers have sadly come and gone. Now is the perfect time to get out there and freshen up this space. After all, your front porch is such an important part of your home. Here is my front porch décor for the fall time!

The Details

I decided to go with a more muted color palate. Sage green and a light orange. I’ve done the bright Fall colors before so I wanted to switch it up this time. Plus lately I’ve become kind of obsessed with sage green!

When I first started thinking about decorating for the Fall, I knew I wanted to incorporate some hay bales. I wasn’t sure if they would fit or make my porch look too crowded, but I was determined to try! If you have an idea in your head, just try it. The worst that happens is you play around with it all, realize it doesn’t work, then you can try something different. At least you tried.

I was so happy that this worked and I was able to use these! I love the look of the stacked hay bales with all the different sized pumpkins.

Just be warned if you decide to use hay bales too, they are extremely messy. I don’t know why I wasn’t entirely prepared for that. Maybe because I was so excited about them. Just know you will constantly have to clean up hay! I personally think it’s worth the extra little effort.

Along with the pumpkins, I added a little scarecrow. I’m glad that I grabbed her! I almost didn’t because she originally had this ugly leaf on her hat, but luckily it came off super easily. She’s so cute sitting up there!!

Next, let’s talk about my flower box. There have been so many visions for this porch. You can check out my Spring porch refresh HERE to see what it used to look like. We’ve tried a lot of things, but none of them have really worked because it gets crazy windy up here. Between that and the fact that I can’t seem to keep any plants or flowers alive for very long, it was time to for me to get creative! I decided to close the box up for now. This seemed like the best and easiest option. I had my hubby cut me 3 pieces of wood, I painted them white to match the flower box, then I literally just set them up on the box to create a bench! I’m actually really loving this. At some point we might build an actual bench, but for now this works!

On the other side I added some Fall pillows to my chair, pumpkins to my table, and a pumpkin patch sign up on the siding! I really like adding a fun little sign to this side of my porch because it gives it all a little more interest and completes the look. Don’t be afraid to hang things on your siding. Just grab a siding hook and you are good to go! Since this sign had little triangle hooks on each side, I decided to hang this one with some burlap and it worked perfect.

I also added some faux flowers to my little white pots. Since I’m having a hard time keeping things alive up here, I decided to go with these mums and I think they actually look really good! I’m really happy that I can re-use these next year and don’t have to worry about them dying. I literally just took two bundles for each planter and stuck them straight down into the dirt, super easy solution!

Here is a close up of my little table! This is such a fun thing to add a touch of décor to every season. I’m loving this cute combo of the sage green pumpkin and jute one! Little design tip: Mix and match different colors and textures while your decorating. It keeps the eye moving and your décor more interesting.

Last, let’s talk about my front door! Secretly I kinda hate this door. It needs to be re-painted because it’s supposed to be grey, but that’s another story. Luckily it works with the fall theme! I always change out my wreath and the mat underneath my ‘hello’. I think the pops of black and white check goes so well up here and this door mat is just perfect.

Here is a close up of my Fall wreath! I used an over the door hanger to hang this up, which matches the rug and pillow. This wreath is my favorite. I’m not going to lie, it was a little more expensive, but I plan on using it for multiple years to come. To me, it was worth it because it worked with everything so well and it is really pretty! Sometimes statement pieces are worth the extra money.

The Final Look

I have to say I absolutely love the way this refresh came out. It’s exactly how I envisioned it and looks so much better than before.

Now I’m fully ready, bring on Fall!
