How to Customize and Make Your Own Drawer Dividers
Do you have drawers that need some major organizing? Maybe you have issues with your drawer organizers fitting right? I hate when they float around inside of the drawer because they are too small. All of my kitchen drawers are pretty big, so I have a hard time finding utensil organizers that are truly big enough. This gave me the idea to just create my own. I’m going to share with you how to customize and make your own drawer dividers, no matter what size your drawers are!

Materials:
- A Tape Measure
- Some Wood Pieces
- A Hot Glue Gun
That’s it! Luckily we had a lot of extra wood laying around from other projects, so my amazing husband just cut some for me. If you don’t have that option, you could always use poplar board.
The Process
Step 1: Take everything out of your drawers and decide what you really want to keep. This step is so important. You don’t want to keep things that don’t make sense or that you won’t ever use. A huge part of organizing is to declutter, so don’t skip this step. If you want to check out some tips I have for decluttering, you can HERE.
Step 2: Put the things you want to keep back in to your drawer to figure out how you want to divide every thing. You can get as creative as you want with how you divide things!
Step 3: Measure and mark all of the long vertical pieces. The ones that go from the front of the drawer to the back. Then measure and mark all your horizontal dividing pieces. Make sure you measure carefully – check and recheck so you have the proper fit.
Step 4: Once you have all of your pieces measured, make your cuts. My husband just used his miter saw.
Step 5: After you have everything cut, put the pieces back in the drawer to make sure it all fits correctly.
Step 6: Once you are sure everything fits snug, mark where you want your glue to go and start connecting everything together!
It’s seriously just that easy!
Now I have a beautiful customized drawer! This is my new favorite way to organize drawers and it literally cost me $0 since I had some random wood sitting around. I love these dividers for so many reasons. They fit perfectly + you can customize them to fit any thing and honestly they just look like part of the drawer! Boujee? Yes please.
The thing I love the most about these dividers, is that you can use them for more than just your kitchen drawers. Do you need your bathroom drawers organized? No problem. It doesn’t matter how big or small your drawer is, you can use this same concept to organize any drawer in your entire home!
In the future you can always add dividers if you find you need more. At any point these spaces no longer work for you, simply take it out and remake it. So simple! Now you can customize and make your own drawer dividers. Tell me which drawers you need organized the most.
