A Little Life and Family Update!

Now that the holidays are over it’s time to settle back into routine but man it’s been difficult. It’s that dreaded post holiday slump, am I right? I took a little break to really enjoy my holidays and it was so nice to just put everything down and enjoy the moments! Now I’m ready to get back to it, but first I want to give you a little life and family update. We have some exciting news!

We got a new puppy! Meet Gracie.

I guess I got ahead of myself when I made our dog accent wall, because now I need to change it up a little to add this new baby! If you haven’t seen that post, go check it out! It’s such a cute little wall that was so simple to create.

If you don’t know we do already have 2 dogs. Are we crazy for getting a third? Probably! But listen, you only live once and dogs make us happy. My husband has wanted a “big” baby sister for our dogs for about a year now, so I finally gave in. He wanted a big dog, I wanted a cute cuddly dog, so we compromised with a Golden Doodle. I’ve heard nothing but good things about this breed, so I’m super excited to watch her grow, learn, and become a part of our family!

Funny backstory.

Ever since I was a kid I have always wanted to be a Mom, but we decided to stop at 3 kids. I truly do think that’s the perfect number for us… BUT, my maternal instinct really kicks in every few years and I just can’t control it. We got our first dog in 2012, had our last baby in 2015, we then got our 2nd dog in 2018, and finally now this little girl! Literally every few years. Those maternal feelings are strong and I’m not mad about it. I love our dogs and our family so much!

Meet our other dog babies!

Zoe is our 9 year old Beagle mix. She’s super sweet and very calm!

Luna is our 3 year old Maltese. She’s sassy and the true queen of this house.

So far Zoe and Luna are not big fans of Gracie, but I feel like we will eventually get to a good place! Zoe really liked her at first, but now she’s totally over it. In their defense, Gracie is 13lbs of straight puppy mess. She’s big and floppy and wants to play so badly, but just doesn’t understand that her “playing” comes off super aggressive and annoying. We are working on it though and I’m confident they will all be friends in the end! Gracie is very smart and starting to learn more every day.

We didn’t need to get much for her, but here are a couple of things we did get that I’m loving!

Floral Dog Collar

This collar is seriously so cute! The color of the flowers and the rose gold accents are super fun. The other thing I really love is the detachable flower. I wasn’t sure if Gracie would chew on it, so I was loving the fact that it can come off. Luckily she doesn’t mess with it at all!

Potty Bells

She has been doing really well with potty training, but she does have accidents here and there. I think she just really needs to learn how to let us know when she has to go. She hasn’t figured the bells out yet, but I think she will catch onto them really quickly!
