Simple Do It Yourself Coffee Pod Organizing Ladder
While organizing my spice cabinet, which you can check out HERE, I realized that I just didn’t have the room to store a ton of coffee pods. That’s when I decided to create a super cute coffee station. I’m all about creating beautiful organization. This simple do it yourself coffee pod organizing ladder was just the touch I needed in my kitchen.

Let me start off by saying I am NOT a crafty person at all, so I am incredibly proud of myself for this little project! If you’re not a crafty person either, try this DIY anyway. I promise you it’s super simple.
The other nice thing about this DIY is that it’s inexpensive to create. This whole project cost me LESS than $10. Can you imagine how much it would cost you inside a store? Girl, make it yourself!

Step 1 – Gather your materials.
- 1 – 36″ Length x 7/16″ Diameter Wood Dowel
- 1 – 36″ Length x 5/8″ Diameter Wood Dowel
- 2 – Black Wired Baskets
- Wood Stain
- Jute Twine
- Wood Glue
A lot of this stuff I actually already had on hand, so you might too!

Step 2 – Cut your dowels.
This will really depend on the size of your baskets and the space under your cabinets. I got my baskets from the Dollar Tree, but honestly they were really hard to find. After searching ALL 10 stores in my area (do you sense an eye roll?!) I finally found some white ones. Nothing a little spray paint can’t fix, am I right? I then cut my dowels down to fit these and measured the space under my cabinets. I cut the two side dowels to 17″ and the ladder rungs to 11″.
Step 3 – Sand, stain, and glue together your ladder.
I slightly sanded down the ends of the dowels because they were a little on the rough side after cutting. Then I stained them. I chose the stain color Special Walnut from Lowes. After the stain was fully dry, I glued the ladder together with some Wood Glue. After gluing, I added the Jute Twine to reinforce the glue. All of these supplies were in my garage already.
Pro Tip: use every bit of what you have at home to make your project less expensive!
Last step – Attach your baskets!
Grab some of that twine and attach your baskets to the ladder rungs. BAM, you are done!

Now you have yourself a cute coffee pod organizing ladder. The next time you have guests over and they ask you where you got it, which they will, you can say “I made it myself!” Feel proud of yourself because, even though it was easy YOU still made it.

This would work great for your special teas, too!!
My question is…how do you keep the ladder from sliding?
Yesss! I might add some of our teas to the bottom!! Honestly it doesn’t slide at all. It’s been up since I made it and hasn’t moved once!
If the ladder slips on your surface, just add a couple of horizontal strips of hot glue on the bottom of the side rungs. As a teacher, I use hot glue for EVERYTHING!
Haha, thanks. I will have to keep that in mind in case mine ever does!
I really like this and will make as soon as I can get to dollar tree. I have a couple of small boxes of flavored pods that need nice storage π
