Christmas Decor Inspiration For Your Home
Christmas time is the best time, am I right? I am so excited to decorate this year! Several years ago while we were moving, I literally got rid of all my seasonal decor. At that point my style had changed significantly. Sometimes you just have to do that. Donate it all and start over! Now that we are living in our new home I’m fully ready to decorate, so here is some Christmas decor inspiration for your home.
Neutral Decor
I’m really loving my entryway table! I went with a more neutral look for this because I think the white looks really pretty with the darker table. I actually just painted this table! It used to be white, but while I was painting my fireplace wall I got the brilliant idea to paint this guy the same color. Yes, I used wall paint. No, I would not recommend. Honestly I should really never be left alone for too long! I am an instant gratification type person, so I just went for it. I’ve never fully loved this table anyway. Now I actually kinda do!
This is the tray I keep on my kitchen island. It’s also pretty neutral. You will see that most of my decor is!
Pop of Color
Now while I really like the neutral decor, I do also like to add in a pop of color! You simply can’t go wrong with a little bit of color here and there. This is our entryway bench and it just makes me so happy. The pop of red brightens up the space and draws your attention in, which I love because we have really tall ceilings. I almost feel like this wall looks kinda empty with just the mirror. Something I may or may not change in the future!
Speaking of the mirror though. This swag is everything! I got this last year and it was the only one I could find at the time. Unfortunately it had these big white flowers on it that I kind of hated, so I tore them off and I love it so much more! Don’t be afraid to buy something you love if you only hate one small thing about it. Use your imagination and change it to fit your style. The swag paired with this Merry & Bright sign just makes this space! To be honestly I wish I could always have a swag on this mirror, I love it that much.
Seasonal Decor Tips
Here are a couple tips I use to minimize the amount I spend on seasonal decor.
- Buy a little each year each season and only buy things that you truly love. If you feel like you can’t live without it, grab it. Otherwise just leave it. Sometimes we can get way too excited about all the seasonal decorations, but I promise if you only buy pieces you truly love you’ll want to keep them for more than just a year!
- Add a touch of the season to decor that you already have! Like this little wreath on my kitchen shelves for example. I just added this simple buffalo plaid bow and it changed the whole vibe. For free! And who doesn’t love that?!
- Buy pieces that can be used for multiple seasons. I actually bought this little truck back in my fall haul, if you want to check out that post you can HERE. I put mini pumpkins in it for the fall season, and now it has a sprig of evergreen and berries! How cute is this? You can literally change it out for every single season. I am obsessed!
I added a few more touches throughout my house, so if you want to see it all you can go watch my YouTube video!
That’s a wrap, (pun intended) at least for now! I still have to finish my tree and of course my fireplace mantle, so stay tuned for updates on those. Hope you enjoyed this Christmas decor inspiration for your home!
