7 Easy Christmas Treat Ideas
We had so much fun with our Halloween movie night, we decided to do it again for Christmas! Our family actually has a tradition where we have countdown to Christmas cards. The kids pull one card each day, then we do a fun Christmas activity, so this fit in perfectly! Here are the 7 easy Christmas treat ideas that we chose and how they turned out! You can also watch us make them all HERE!
We gathered up all of the Christmas goodies and set aside some time to create.

I tried to let my kids do most of the work, but this time around we had way less time! They still helped as much as they could and had such a great time doing it.

1. Christmas Tree Charcuterie Board
This was one of my favorite Christmas treats to make! I found this tree shaped tray at Walmart that was so perfect. It honestly turned out way better than I imagined in my head. Sometimes charcuterie boards can be tough because you just never know where to put everything. My best advice is just play around with it a little until you like the way it looks!

Ingredients
- A Mix of Cheeses (I used slices & cubes)
- A Mix of Crackers
- Pepperoni & Salami (or any other meats)
- Grapes
- Cranberries
- Olives
- Walnuts
- Fresh Rosemary
I have no instructions on how to create the actual board, but I will share with you how to make a rose out of your meat! I recommend creating the rose first, then you can decorate around it.

Instructions for Meat Rose
- Use some sort of cup to create the rose shape (the size of the rose will depend on the size of your meat slices and the size of the cup you use).
- Place sliced meat over the rim of the glass, then overlap with another slice of meat until you make it around the whole rim. This usually needs only 3 to 4 slices and will be the layer with the least amount of sliced meats.
- Add a second row so that it overlaps the first layer of meat. Just make sure you cover the seams of the first row.
- Continue this process until you are happy with the size of your rose.
- Turn your glass over on your board and you are done!
Truth is you can use anything you want to make the rest of this charcuterie board, that’s the beauty of them! Be as creative as you’d like. I really loved using the fresh Rosemary as a garnish because it looks so similar to a pine tree! I also used a cookie cutter to cut out my star at the top. You can check out my YouTube video to see the whole process!
2. Cheese Cake Santa Hats
These are probably one of the yummiest treats you could make! Just make sure you don’t get a pre sliced cheesecake and have the right tool to cut them. I did not. Which did make it all a little challenging, but we are always learning over here!

Ingredients
- Cheesecake
- Strawberries
- Whipped Cream
Instructions
- You can make a homemade cheese cake or use a store bought one. Just make sure if it’s store bought, that it is unsliced. HERE is a recipe from a blog called Sweet and Savory Meals I really love for homemade cheesecake. I just personally don’t put the sour cream topping on it, but to each their own!
- Use some sort of circle cookie cutter or shot glass about the same diameter as a strawberry to create the base for your Santa hats. When cutting these make sure you keep the crust on the bottom.
- Put your whipped cream in a pastry bag and pipe it onto the the top of the cheesecake. This is going to act like the fluffy white part of Santa’s hat.
- Then place your strawberry on the whipped cream and top the strawberry with a little puff of whipped cream!
Aren’t these so fun!? They were delicious! Seriously so good. Cheese cake is my absolute favorite, so these were a huge hit!
3. Chocolate Dipped Pretzels
These are the easiest quickest treats you could make! My kid’s had so much fun shaking the sprinkles onto the pretzels and we made a ton. I actually think I might make more because we have leftover stuff.

Ingredients
- Mini Pretzel Twists
- Melted Chocolate
- Christmas Sprinkles
Instructions
- Melt chocolate in a microwaveable bowl on timed defrost for 30 seconds. Stir, then put it back in on timed defrost for 15 seconds at a time until melted.
- Dip your pretzels into the melted chocolate.
- Coat both sides, then pull it out with a fork. (try to tap off the excess chocolate)
- Lay the covered pretzels down on wax paper, then top with sprinkles, and refridgerate.
These didn’t even make it onto the table before everyone was trying to steal them out of the bowl! I mean, the combo of sweet and salty is the best!
4. Snowman Cheeseball
This idea is so much fun! I actually made this same thing for my daughter’s 2nd birthday and I’ve always loved it. I forgot to get peppercorns so just ignore the whole cloves. Do not recommend using these because their flavor is strong, but hey, it worked! I also used grape vines to make little arms.

Ingredients
- 2 8oz Blocks of Cream Cheese
- 3 Cups of Mozzarella
- 1 Cup of Cheddar Cheese
- 1/2 Cup of Green Onion
- 1/2 Tsp. Cayenne Pepper
- 1/2 Cup Almonds
- Parmasan
- Cheese or Carrot for Nose
- Peppercorn for Face & Buttons
- Grape Vines for Arms
Instructions
- Make sure your cream cheese is softened and at room temperature.
- Using a beater mix together all of your cheeses (NOT the Parmesan), green onion, cayenne pepper, and almonds. Mix until well combined.
- Separate the cheese mixture into two different balls. One smaller than the other.
- Once you are happy with the sizes, roll them around and coat the cheese balls in the parmesan.
- Wrap each ball separately with plastic and refrigerate until you are going to serve.
- Before serving add the cheese/carrot, peppercorns, and grape vines to create a snowman!
I think he turned out so cute! I love cheese balls and this is one of my favorite recipes. You can even add in different cheeses if you’d like! Just make sure it’s mostly white cheese so he looks like a snowman.
5. Christmas Cherry Pie
I know cherry pie is not super Christmasy, but hear me out! This is a really good example of making an ordinary treat, then adding a touch of the season. I just used cookie cutters to cut out a snowman and tree, plus added a couple sprigs of rosemary. I love the red and green together, it’s so perfect!

Ingredients
- 2 Deep Dish Pie Crusts
- 2 Jars of Cherry Pie Filling
- Melted Butter
- Sugar
- Snowman & Tree Cookie Cutters
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 425.
- Pour your cherry pie filling out into your pie crust.
- Lay the 2nd pie crust out on a floured surface and cut into thin strips. Make sure to leave enough for the cookie cutters.
- Use your cookie cutters to cut out your snowman and tree.
- Take the strips and lay them out vertically on your pie leaving a small space in-between each strip.
- Weave in more strips horizontally to create a pattern.
- Place your snowman and tree on top, brush with melted butter & sprinkle with sugar, then bake for 40 minutes.
- After the first 15 minutes, make sure you cover the outer edge of the pie crust so it doesn’t burn. I used a pie shield, but you could also just use some aluminum foil.
This is a super cute easy way to make pie for the holidays! You could also do this with an apple pie.
6. Spinach Dip Filled Pull Apart Tree
I was so excited to make this treat, but it was a little tricky! After the instructions, I’m going to share a few tips I learned during this whole process. Make sure you check that out if you want to make this! This was actually attempt number two for me and it turned out way better than the first time around.

Ingredients
- 2 Rolls of Pizza Dough
- 1/4 Cup Butter
- 2 Cloves of Garlic, Minced
- Mozzarella Sticks
- Parmasan
- Parsley
Spinach Filling
- 6oz Chopped Spinach
- 3oz Cream Cheese (room temp)
- 2 Cloves Garlic, Minced
- 1/2 tsp. Salt
- 1/4 tsp. Pepper
- 1 tsp. Italian Seasoning
- 1/2 Cup Grated Parmesan
- 1/2 Cup Mozzarella
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 425.
- Combine all the spinach filling ingredients into a blender and blend together.
- Open your mozzarella sticks and cut into 1″ pieces. You’ll need 23.
- Roll out both pizza dough crusts on a floured surface. (don’t make them thinner, you don’t want them to be thin!)
- Use a 2″ circle cookie cutter and cut out 23 circles.
- Put a small amount of the filling in the middle of each circle, then add your mozzarella.
- Pinch together creating a ball. Place on an aluminum foil lined cookie sheet in the shape of a tree.
- Cut out a star with the extra dough and place on top of the tree.
- Melt your butter and add the garlic, then brush onto the tree.
- Sprinkle some parmesan and parsley on top, then stick in the oven for 18-20 minutes.
Tips for making this pull apart tree!
- The first time I made this I only used 1 roll of pizza dough, which made the dough pretty thin. After I baked it all in the oven, I realized that the thinner the dough is the worse it looks. After it comes out of the oven, the dough ball will collapse. You want to make sure that your dough is on the thicker side. I actually used 2 rolls of pizza dough the second time and it worked so much better.
- Try not to put too much filling into your dough. You don’t want so much that they are hard to close up.
- Make sure you close your dough up super well! If the filling comes out, the dough balls will collapse and it’s not cute.
- Check on it a few times while it’s in the oven. I had to put aluminum foil over my star so it didn’t burn while the rest of the rolls were baking.
Hope that helps! These are really really good and I will be making them again. They just have a little learning curve.
7. Christmas Punch
You can’t have treats without a fun drink and this one is so pretty! You can make this with or without champagne. We just left the champagne and the ginger ale out, mixed the juices together, then added those to our cups afterwards!

Ingredients
- 4 Cups Cranberry Juice
- 1 Cup Apple Juice
- 1 Cup Orange Juice
- 1 Cup Pineapple Juice
- 2 Cups Champagne or Ginger Ale
- 1 Orange
- 3 Cinnamon Sticks
- Star Anise
- Cranberries
- Ice
Instructions
- The night before add the spaces to your bottle of apple juice and store in the fridge over night.
- The next day add the apple juice and all of the other juices to your punch bowl.
- Add the Champagne. If you are are not using champagne, add the ginger ale.
- Stir well, then add some spices, cranberries, and orange slices for garnish.
We actually ran out of the cranberry juice because I ended up tripling the recipe, so we used some cranberry pineapple we had on hand. I think it added a nice color to it!
