Simple Pumpkin Face Halloween Makeup Look!
Let me just start off by saying this is not my normal content, but I wanted to share because it’s Halloween season and I love doing fun makeup looks! It’s been a little while since I’ve done one, so I started out with something a little easier. Sadly last year, my anxiety took over and I didn’t end up doing any. If you struggle at all with this, jump over to my other blog post HERE and give it a read. This year I’m ready to get back at it! Here is my simple pumpkin face Halloween makeup look, I hope you enjoy!
The Look
This year I decided to try a new face paint and I really loved it! In previous years I used an oil based paint, which worked fine but I didn’t love how it dried. It still looked wet and shiny, which is fine for some looks but not for others. The paints I used for this pumpkin face were water based paints, so they dried a lot more matte. I also grabbed an eye shadow pallet to use on top of the paint to set it. This eye shadow pallet is so awesome! It has so many amazing colors and most of them are matte. Plus they came with a bunch of brushes. I always recommend using different brushes from your normal makeup when doing any type of face painting or sfx makeup.
The Process
If you want to see the whole process I uploaded it on my YouTube channel, so make sure to check that out!
This was the first time I used wax and I’m not going to lie, it was a bit of a challenge! Before going into this look, I didn’t realize that the wax would require some sort of adhesive. I should have guessed, but I just didn’t think about it. That’s a little heads up for you if you are wanting to use wax yourself. I tried to use just a regular craft stick glue and it did an okay-ish job, but the scar was definitely not secured to my face at all! Next time I will be using some spirit gum to see how that works.
Other than that, I love how this simple pumpkin face Halloween makeup look turned out and had so much fun creating it. Here are some other makeup looks I’ve created in the past! Let me know which one is your favorite.
