How to Spring Clean Your Entire Home in Only One Day
Winter is gone and Spring is almost here, which means it’s time to give your home a little attention. Ah yes – the dreaded Spring cleaning, trust me I get it, but what if I told you I could give you some tips on how to Spring clean your entire home in only one day? Might as well just get it all over with, right?! If one day really intimidates you, make it a weekend task. I personally don’t love to clean, so I’d rather do it all in one fell swoop and move on instead of dragging it out for weeks.
If you have a daily cleaning routine, Spring cleaning shouldn’t be a huge thing because you should be keeping your house pretty clean on a weekly basis anyway. If you don’t have a routine yet, I highly recommend having one. Check out my Weekly Cleaning Checklist. Spring cleaning is not so bad. It’s just about getting to those hidden or never thought about areas in your home. I know just the thought of it can seem super overwhelming, but don’t let it. You just need to know where to start.
So, where do you start?
Make a plan. Seriously, when you have a plan things go much smoother. Grab my Spring Cleaning Checklist down below and go through each of your rooms one at a time. I love using checklists, because they break everything down and simplify the tasks you need to get done. Plus, checking things off feels so good and helps keep you motivated! Once you have this, you are ready Spring clean your entire home in only one day.

Choose a day to get up early, the earlier the better, so you have plenty of time to get things done. Open the windows (hopefully it’s warm enough out), turn some dance music on, and grab all of your cleaning supplies! Everything’s better with some fresh air and fun music. Dancing and cleaning go hand in hand for me! Hopefully I’m not alone in that.
Most of my cleaning supplies come from Grove Collaborative. I love Grove because they carry natural cleaning products that can be delivered straight to your door, plus they have awesome deals! You can also set up personalized scheduled shipments so you’ll never run out of the products you love.

Spring Cleaning Tips:
- Declutter your home before you start your Spring cleaning! Check out my post, 30 Day Challenge to a Decluttered Home. If you don’t have time to do all 30 days, do a few days of the calendar at a time instead. Just remember to do whatever works for you, but I will say – a decluttered home is a lot easier to clean.
- If you can, rally the troops! Grab all your littles + hubby and work together to tackle the job. Honestly, not doing it by yourself takes less time and makes cleaning a little more bearable. My motto – anyone who lives in this house can help keep it clean.
- I personally like to start from one end of the house (usually the front door) and work my way throughout the rest. Doing it this way helps you to flow easily through the house and stay on task, instead of bouncing back and forth.
- Work in one room at a time. Focusing on one smaller space at a time is much more manageable and you can walk away from each room knowing it’s completely done.
- Always work from the ceiling down. You don’t want to have to re-sweep a bunch of times because of dust. Doing it this way should save you time.
- Grab yourself a cleaning caddy and keep all of your cleaning supplies close. It helps so much to be able to carry your supplies around with you and have them all in one place. Grove has a super cute one you can add to your order!
- Keep a good attitude and take breaks if needed. If you don’t finish in one day, it’s okay! Just finish the room you are currently working on, then come back later to work on the rest.
If all else fails, hire someone to do it for you! No shame in asking for help.
Hopefully these tips and Spring Cleaning Checklist give you some inspiration to Spring clean your own home in just one day! Spring cleaning is never a fun thing to do – unfortunately it is necessary, so just get in there and get it done! When it’s all done, pat yourself on the back or pay your cleaning lady and grab a glass of wine girl!! Either way, you deserve it.
